Nordic Games GmbH, part of the Nordic Games Holding AB group announces the acquisition of the JoWooD and The Adventure Company brands, products and selected subsidiaries. JoWooD and The Adventure Company will become publishing labels within Nordic Games GmbH, with the plan to re-launch the huge back catalogue of games and invest in developing the wholly owned IP’s and franchises, including SpellForce, Painkiller, ArcaniA, The Guild, Panzer Elite, Legend of Kay, The Nations, Safecracker, and Neighbours From Hell, amongst others. Gamescom: Assassin’s Creed Revelations Gameplay Trailer

Ubisoft has released a new gameplay trailer for Assassin’s Creed Revelations and Ezio’s getting stabby with it. It’s slick with an amazing soundtrack (Ubisoft discovers dubstep)and as we’ve come to expect from the AC trailers, it leaves us wanting more. THQ Kills Red Faction series

Amid slumping sales, THQ had quietly killed the Red Faction series. Sales for Red Faction: Armageddon have been lackluster despite an unprecedented marketing campaign that included an original movie on the sci-fi channel, leading to a decline of THQ stock prices. THQ reported a net loss of $38.4 million, or 56 cents per share in the April-June period, compared with a loss of $30.1 million, or 44 cents per share, in the same period a year earlier. Carrie Swidecki, a 35 year old public school teacher from Bakersfield, CA, got her exergaming groove on and broke the Guinness World Record for Longest Marathon on a Dance / Rhythm Game playing DanceDanceRevolution (SuperNova 2 arcade game) in Charleston, West Virginia yesterday at 12:30 a.m. EDT.
