Chella hails from the UK and joined Gameindustry.com around the year 2000. It was so many moons ago, she can't quite remember. Back then, the only women you saw in the games industry were in bikinis and vertiginous heels at trade shows - oh how times have changed, kind of. Chella started as a humble reviewer, but soon became our European Correspondent and keeps us on top of industry happenings across the Pond.
She tends to like the weird Japanese games we've never heard of, so that's good for making us look all-encompassing and stuff. Chella does like games, so don't be fooled by the copious amount of columns devoted to bemoaning the lack of variety in the industry. When she's not surfing (the sea, not the internet) or camping up mountains, Chella likes a good action RPG (especially if it's sci-fi), anything with a good narrative and like we said, the weirder the better. She's also a regular in the GiN Lounge, but that's just because we like her accent.
Just in time for the spooky Halloween season, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter brings us a thoughtful tale that delivers an eerie bit of American gothic without becoming period melodrama. It’s an adventure game you will want to dive into.
A writing for games course gives Chella renewed passion for games and the stories they can tell. Plus she gets to attend a Q&A session with Rhianna Pratchett.
Are you ready for some gaming? Hopefully so, because the autumn release season is in full swing. Chella surveys the field and picks out the top six titles that no gamer should be without in the coming few months.
The battle for Destiny is also a battle for gamers as Bungie’s new FPS could secure a sales lead for the PlayStation 4 this Christmas, thanks to the help of some clever marketing tactics from Sony. All’s fair in love, war and gaming, right?

Chella reports on all things Gamescom this week. Watching both major conferences, it looked like Microsoft would finally put one in the win column, until Sony came out and blew them away once again.
According to a new Eurogamer report, Rise of the Tomb Raider is probably a timed exclusive for Xbox One and Xbox 360. When pressed on whether the game will make it to other platforms, Xbox boss, Phil Spencer was a little bit cagey. He did admit that the deal “has a duration”. Spencer said, “I have Tomb Raider shipping next holiday exclusively on Xbox. It is Xbox 360 and Xbox One. I’m not trying to fake anybody out in terms of where this thing is. What they do with the franchise in the long run is not mine. I don’t … Continue reading Rise of The Tomb Raider Not So Exclusive→
Another Sony exclusive, Rime is the upcoming puzzle adventure from Deadlight developer, Tequila Works. The stunning, whimsical trailer put the pretty into the Sony press conference, offering visions of a boy lost on a mystical island. The game shows promise and more than an element of Ico, as a boy in a tunic journeys across a deserted island. There is a mysterious white tower and some fantastical elements, such as copper globes on legs. I kid you not. The cel-shaded animation is reminiscent of the Legend of Zelder: The Windwaker aesthetic. This is whimsy with a capital whim. Check out the … Continue reading Rime Trailer Melts Hearts at Gamescom→
