The battle lines have been drawn and global peace is at stake as Meridian4 (@Meridian4) and Full Control today release Frontline Tactics on Steam for PC and Mac, with an iPad and iPhone version due out next month. The tactical strategy game drops players in the thick of a mission to quell an uprising by a splinter military group bent on overtaking the oil-rich nation of Fahrahn. Although it enjoys a robust single-player option, what really sets Frontline Tactics apart is its ability to let gamers play against each other in two different multiplayer modes, regardless of which version they are playing. So, players can be playing on their iPad/iPhone against others who may be playing on their Windows laptop or Mac.
‘Frontline Tactics offers players a seamless gameplay experience with multiplatform support, enabling them to enjoy the game on their PC, Mac or iOS device,’ said Steve Milburn, Director of Marketing at Meridian4. ‘In keeping with the competitive nature of the tactical strategy genre, gamers can also battle it out against other players in versus or co-op mode.’
The year is 2025 and the world still runs on oil. A small splinter military group led by a madman named Akhali Muhamar threatens to take over the oil-rich nation of Fahrahn. The country is a large oil supplier to the Western world and national interests are threatened. An elite group of soldiers are tasked with smashing the uprising and maintaining peace through a preemptive military strike before the situation turns into full scale war.
In Frontline Tactics, players command a modern, elite fighting unit as they take on critical missions, from defending and controlling a location or asset to all-out elimination and survival. Because the missions are diverse, outfitting your team with the right mix of weaponry, armor and equipment is critical to success on the battlefield. Play against a ruthless and cunning AI in single player or simultaneously frag it out in multiplayer in both Versus or Co-op modes.
Frontline Tactics is available now for PC and Mac on Steam as a free-to-play game at http://store.steampowered.com/app/218310. Players will receive 100,000 credits when they download the game to use towards in-game purchases such as equipment and weapons. The game is also being released with three exciting booster packs: Medic, Sniper and Close Quarter Combat, which are being sold separately for $5.99 each. These packs allow players to receive one of the three soldiers, including their unique individual proficiencies, first weapon and an additional 100,000 credits to spend on their soldier. Gamers who do not wish to purchase the booster packs can earn more credits through game play.
