The Longest Journey Re-Released

On the heels of the hugely successful release of Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, Aspyr Media is re-releasing for the series' fans and newcomers Funcom's original PC adventure game, The Longest Journey. Previously released in late 2000, the award-winning The Longest Journey game was a runaway hit and has been considered to be one of the finest adventure games ever made with more than 70 speaking characters and over 50 hours of gameplay. By reissuing The Longest Journey, fans of the original will be able to relive the experience and players that are new to the series will be able to immerse themselves in the epic that plays through more than 160 unique locations and tells the thrilling story that started it all. The game will be released in early September.

With a story spanning thirteen complete chapters through two distinct and detailed worlds and includes a surprising and emotional finale, The Longest Journey is an adventure to be remembered. Taking place 200 years into the future in a world based on science and technology, the game is a fantastic science-fiction/fantasy adventure as seen through the eyes of the18-year-old art student April Ryan. She is an ordinary girl whose life is suddenly turned upside down when she discovers the existence of a parallel world full of magic and strange creatures. April Ryan has the power to shift between these two worlds, and soon discovers that she has a very important mission in life. Her destiny is to travel between the two worlds to save humankind from total destruction. April’s charming personality and street-smart attitude is her only weapon against evil forces.

Earlier this year Aspyr released Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, the continuation of a saga that began in the original. The game was the winner of multiple E3 awards as the best game in its genre and was the top-selling adventure game in 2006.
