This week our Time Waster tackles Dumb Ways to Die 2: The Games. Does it live up to the first game or is it just a shallow grab for cash?
Welcome Time Wasters! This week I searched around until I discovered a game in development called Shiny Gauntlet. The protagonist of the game is a spirit that is trying to escape a dungeon. Shiny Gauntlet is an indie game that has rouge-like elements to it. The game drops players in a randomly-generated, unlit dungeon and has them run around as different classes killing monsters and collecting loot until they reach the end. What makes Shiny Gauntlet a little different from other rougelike games is that players don’t permanently have a class. Instead, the player’s class is affected by what weapon they … Continue reading Finding a Shiny Guantlet
This week Billy lies and cheats his way to the top in Town of Salem. It’s a browser game that is basically a chat room with some extra features. It’s not about having the best gear, highest levels or quickest reflexes. Instead, the game rewards the players that are best at lying and keeping track of details.
Welcome Time Wasters! This week I’m returning to one of my favorite series that I’ve reviewed as part of this Time Waster gig, The Last Door. Except that this time around, I’m looking at The Last Door – Collector’s Edition on Steam. If you’ve never read any of my reviews for Season One of The Last Door, here they are. Chapter One Chapter Two Chapter Three Chapter Four Alright, now that you’re up-to-date I can start talking about The Last Door – Collector’s Edition. The Last Door – Collector’s Edition takes the first four chapters of the series and puts them … Continue reading Returning With The Last Door – Collector’s Edition
This week our Time Waster checks out Boid, an Early Access game on Steam all about underwater RTS with minuscule creatures. This one is more than worth the price of admission already, and should only get better.
This week our Time Waster is drawn in by Nintendo to take a look at the Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate demo. What are his thoughts on the upcoming game?
This week Billy checks out a fan-made game called Mega Man: Revenge of the Fallen. How does it stack up against official games in the series?
This week our Time Waster took time away from video games to enjoy a Magic: The Gathering game with family and friends over the holidays.
Welcome Time Wasters! This week I spent my time exploring the cosmos in Universe Sandbox. Universe Sandbox is a strange game to have in my Steam library. The game isn’t exactly a game, but it’s more of a simulator. That’s strange for me because I’m not a big fan of simulators. However, I really do find myself able to enjoy this game. Universe Sandbox allows players to create an infinite number of universes to play with and explore. When I say explore, I mean look around at all the different formations and rotations of planets in the universe. So it and creating really … Continue reading Exploring the Universe Sandbox
Welcome Time Wasters! I’ve gone further than any hipster has hoped to go. Instead of just checking out a game in it’s alpha, I’m looking at one in its prealpha. Get your fedoras and neckbeards ready! (Note: I do own a fedora and have been known to sport a neckbeard from time to time. It’s a joke, people.) Alright, so this week’s game is called Jobchanger Brigade. It’s a 2D game that has RPG elements combined with hack-n-slash combat. The game is very early in its build so there isn’t much in the way of story. All I can figure is … Continue reading Checking Out the Jobchanger Brigade Prealpha
