Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment announced a 3rd-Person Update for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, launching December 5. This update introduces two of the most highly requested features from the community: New Game+ and the long-awaited third-person mode.
With the third-person mode, players can experience Pandora from a whole new perspective—at the push of a button. Whether exploring, fighting, or simply taking in the view, third-person mode brings a new sense of scale, freedom, and immersion. Massive Entertainment has reworked animations, controls, audio, and camera systems to ensure the experience feels seamless and intuitive.
The update also introduces New Game+, allowing players to replay the story while keeping their inventory and skills, facing tougher enemies and unlocking a brand-new skill tree and more powerful gear. It’s a fresh challenge for seasoned players looking to dive deeper into the world of Pandora.
“We’ve always envisioned Avatar Frontiers of Pandora as a living world that evolves with our players,” said Omar Bouali, Creative Director at Massive Entertainment. “This update is a celebration of our community’s passion and we’re thankful to our players for their support—it means the world to our team.”
This update follows the game’s continued post-launch support, including two story packs:
• The Sky Breaker, where players join the great Na’vi games and witness the zakru migration
• Secrets of the Spires, introducing a stunning mountainous region designed to elevate the thrill of banshee flying
Players have also benefited from previous quality-of-life updates, including a revamped Hunter’s Guide, smoother 40 FPS mode, and rebalanced combat.
In addition, players can take advantage of a limited-time sale on Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, available now (timing varies per platform). With the update arriving just ahead of the release of Avatar: Fire and Ash on December 19, there’s never been a better time to join the adventure.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam and Ubisoft Connect.
