Hey all, I’m back with the sequel to a game I covered a while back called Bubsy for this Retro Game Friday. This week we jump into the classic title called Bubsy Two Fur.

Plot: The plot of the sequel has almost nothing to do with the first game. There are no alien space invaders desiring Earth’s yarn for themselves. It just has to do with Bubsy, his relatives, and his friend Arnold going to a newly opened theme park run by a megalomaniac named Oinker P. Hamm.

Gameplay: This plays a lot like the original, though it tightened up its controls to a degree that it wasn’t a pain in the butt to play and added local multiplayer that allowed a second player to play as one of Bubsy’s relatives, along with the ability to fire a Nerf bazooka at enemies. Finally, it allowed players to select the next stage they wished to play instead of progressing in a completely linear fashion like in the original.

Art: The art has aged really well given that this was a 2D game from the Super Nintendo and Genesis era.

Music: Like with the original Bubsy, the music fits with the environment.

Overall: A fun game and much better than the first entry in the series.
