EMP Pulse Dancing

As if Islamic extremists flying airplanes into buildings and snipers wreaking havoc around this area isn't bad enough. To bring up my stress level, consider this" Two weeks ago, I headed off to my local EB to see if Red Faction 2 was released. Since this is the start of the busy holiday title season, I wanted to get a head start. After all, we are talking Red Faction 2, Contra: Shattered Soldier, Shenmue 2, Metroid Prime, Metal Gear Solid Substance, Splinter Cell, etc., etc., etc. As usual, I found out that RF2 was actually coming out the day after … Continue reading EMP Pulse Dancing

Pre-Order Blues

After the commentary I wrote last time regarding the lies and deceits that both EB and Gamestop displayed on their web sites, I thought they would actually take my concerns to heart. Go figure that they don't, as once again they both lied to me regarding the release date of NHL 2003. Recently it was listed to be released on October 1st, and as usual I gave the stores an extra day because of their "that's when it's being shipped" crap. But when I went to the local EB on the following day (the 2nd), NHL 2003 was STILL not … Continue reading Pre-Order Blues

Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire…

What was supposed to be a day in NHL heaven turned out to take an alternate course; all because of a store's website that LIED to me. The last week I checked out both the Gamestop and EBWorld websites, and they had the PC version of NHL 2003 scheduled for this last Tuesday (the 17th). I was looking forward for this day to arrive, but I had to also remember that unlike places like Suncoast who ALWAYS get their titles on the day they are scheduled, software stores have to wait another day for the release, claiming that the listed … Continue reading Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire…

Invade Greece!

Since the last time I wrote, I have been through a lot. I am finally back from PlayStation 2 hiatus (after a $100 repair bill for a new laser lens pickup and cleaning), and even went as far as obtaining one of the rare Network Adapters. Granted I only have 56K thanks to a certain cable company not providing internet services (*cough* Adelphia *cough*) and also because my phone line isn't DSL-ready yet. But at least I can get some online action going, which I will get to in a bit. I have also kept my word about getting rid … Continue reading Invade Greece!

Got The 56K Blues

Ok, we all are now aware that the official launch of XBox Live will be taking place on November 15th, and I am anxious to get the opportunity to enjoy online console gaming that I have not experienced since Phantasy Star Online for the Dreamcast. But we know where that sad story went, thanks to Whore and Blowhard. Since then I have been unable to do any online gaming. Even with my blazing fast Athlon XP2000 computer and a new library of hot titles (Warcraft 3 and Wolfenstein to name a few), I still am no match for any true … Continue reading Got The 56K Blues

Sports Bore

As a sports fan, I hate this time of year. I mean, the summer is absolutely boring for anyone who likes sports. Even my watching baseball is starting to wane away. On my return trip from Wednesday night's 4-1 Pirate victory against the Colorado Rockies, I heard on the news that the possible strike date is not September 16th, as I originally thought. It is now slated for AUGUST 16th. What this means is that if this strike goes all the way up to, and possibly canceling, the World Series, then last night's game will be the last game I … Continue reading Sports Bore

It’s Not My Fault

NO HOLIDAY FOR ME! So I missed a commentary, so what? I never thought that it would result in a tirade, and my good name being attacked by my own editor, for crying out loud! I guess I'll have to explain my entire story to Breeden to make sure he knew what I was going through. To start off, considering it was the 4th of July holiday, I decided that I wanted to spend it back in my hometown, away from all the noise and potential terror attacks that would plague DC. (Go figure the only attack was that gun-toting … Continue reading It’s Not My Fault

Victory!

Victory is mine! On my last commentary, I was pictured with the caption stating "It's hell inside." Nothing could be more truthful after the ordeal that I got myself into over the weekend. It all started last week when my new barebones computer arrived: a brand new Athlon XP 2000+ with 256 MB of PC 2100 DDR memory and a Gigabyte 7DX motherboard. I ordered it from the same company (Infinity Solutions Plus) because I have a good history with them, and the last computer I ordered from them worked almost flawlessly. After getting the case opened I noticed the … Continue reading Victory!

Back To The PC

Warcraft III, Elite Force II, Freelancer, and of course, DOOM III have tempted me back. Now more than ever it is time for me to return to the realm of PC gaming, a foray I recently have departed from because upgrades were becoming very costly. But as I look back at the PC I own (or should I say, owned after the power supply was fried), I realized that two years is long enough to wait before making a significant upgrade. For a while, having an AMD Athlon 700 PC powered by a Voodoo 3 board and 128 MB of … Continue reading Back To The PC

Day Three – Don’t Slow Down

Seventy-two hours have passed since I arrived here in LA, and for this year’s E3 I have done more than ever before. More games, more previews, more free junk to give out, more women, my first ever XBox party (don’t get excited, it was just ok), and all done on a cheap budget (I had almost NO money until yesterday). This year’s E3 definitely was an improvement over last year, but mainly because there was no hype about new systems debuting (almost at the same level of hype that Attack of the Clones had compared to Phantom Menace). The new … Continue reading Day Three – Don’t Slow Down
