Neos Land In Open Beta

Fans of Neos Land, a new massively multiplayer role playing game (MMORPG) currently under development by Calgary-based NeoJac Entertainment, will soon have a chance to try out their home and dungeon design skills in a portion of the game. Developers have opened up the game in a limited area via the web to let fans experiment with the game’s voxel editor. The editor enables players to dig out or terra form land and create a dungeon, or move objects around in order to build a house or other structure.

Beginning Friday, September 27th players can log in to the Neos Land website at www.neosland.com. After creating an account, players will receive an email to log in, create a character and then launch the building tool program.

The building tool demo is currently available in a web-based environment (the game will ultimately launch as a client/server model) and is designed to give players an idea of how this feature will work once the game launches next year.

"This game is all about the community and what they would like to see in an MMORPG," said NeoJac CEO Jacques Rossouw. "One of the top requests from our fans was a system to let them create their own dungeons, build them out, drop in their own monsters and create their own adventures for their friends or anyone else. They also wanted the ability to design and build their own homes. Even put them next to their dungeons. This voxel system does just that. And in the spirit of full player input and design, we are providing them the chance to jump in and try it out for themselves and tell us what they think."

Additionally, players will be able to utilize a blueprint tool in Neos Land, which essentially allows them to save their house plans so their homes can be easily rebuilt, assuming players have the requisite carpentry and/or masonry skills. Structures in Neos Land can be attacked and destroyed by other players or monsters. Blueprints can also be sold to other players for in-game currency. Players can log in during the building tool demo, experiment with their designs and at a later stage save them to their accounts so they can be used when the game launches.
