Nerd Corps Releases Slugterra-based Game

Gamers of all ages can battle it out to become the best slugslinger of all time in the new game Slug it Out!, for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Launching December 13, Slug it Out! is a fast-paced action puzzle game based on the popular animated television series, Slugterra.

The game transports players to the underground world of Slugterra where Eli Shane must collect little creatures called slugs, use them to battle a horde of villains, and stop the evil Dr. Blakk! Each slug has its own unique powers and transforms into a powerful battle beast when fired from a blaster!

Players must quickly match tiles on the game board to power up their slugs and fire across at their opponent. New slug powers are earned through game play, with eight slugs to collect: Infernus, Frostcrawler, Tazerling, Flatulorhinkus, Arachnet, Fandango, Boon Doc and Enigmo. The key to success lies in choosing the right attack and defense slugs for each round, and using them at the right time. Opponents pack their own punch using evil "ghoul" slugs!

The game is based on the animated action-comedy series Slugterra, airing on Disney XD. The series follows the adventures of Eli and his team of friends as they explore the caverns of Slugterra collecting, training and dueling with magical creatures called slugs. When fired at 100 MPH out of a high-powered blaster, they unleash their awesome powers! Eli and his friends must stop the evil Dr. Blakk who is trying to "ghoul" the slugs, transforming them into feral mindless weapons, and battle a host of opponents and henchmen along the way! Television viewers can consult local listings for air times.

Slugterra is the fourth original property developed by Nerd Corps Entertainment. A toy line developed by JAKKS Pacific will hit shelves in spring 2013, with several additional key licensees signed on for the brand and rolling out merchandise throughout 2013 and beyond.

Slug it Out! is available for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch for $0.99 in the US and Canada. It is the first iOS game developed and published by Nerd Corps Entertainment.
