Konami Opens Up eSport Competitions To All Players In PES

Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. has announced that it will integrate a dedicated element within PES 2017, giving players immediate access to the PES League eSports competition.

PES League sees the world’s greatest PES players compete for a chance to attend a World Final every May – historically taking place pitch-side ahead of the annual UEFA Champions League final. The competition will now be easier for all PES users to access. For the first time in the series’ history, PES 2017 will feature a dedicated mode that will allow users to register and partake in Official PES League matches shortly after the product launches.

“As the PES series continues to go from strength to strength, we are exploring a number of ways to build its reputation within the eSports sector,” said Jonas Lygaard, Senior Director of Brand and Business Development at Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. “Later this year we will be integrating the hugely popular PES League element as a dedicated mode within PES 2017 and future iterations, allowing organised competitions to become easily accessible to absolutely anyone owning a PES title. The PES League has enjoyed massive success since its inception, and this will allow us to fast-track the series within the eSports arena.”

PES 2017 will be released on September 13th/15th. The new game is founded upon the ‘Control Reality’ ethos, elevating the series’ award-winning gameplay to a new level through incredible new control elements and a new standard of visual realism, without sacrificing what made PES successful in the first place: playing a match with your friends. The industry-leading Fox Engine is again central to elevating the series to new heights, with KONAMI focusing on first touch, the making and receiving of passes, and adaptive AI to elevate the game’s acclaimed realism.
