Hey all, I’m back with another Light Novel for this week’s Translation Necessary Thursday. It’s “Japan Summons: Volume 01” by Minorou!

Plot: The plot is pretty unique for an Isekai, in that instead of just one person being summoned, or even just a high school full of students, the entire country of Japan including its actual landmasses are all summoned into a brand new world. Sadly, the novel doesn’t really focus on any one character, rather it treats the country as a whole as one. It’s a bit of a disappointment since it could’ve been really interesting to see this story from the perspective of mainly just one person. It gets worse from there as “Japan Summons” reads like the novel version of a Japanese equivalent of the song “America, F*%# Yeah” from the movie Team America. I really wish I was kidding, but it pretty much devolves into that.

Overall: A rather disappointing novel given its very interesting Isekai premise, but maybe the next volume will be better. I’ll get around to reading it soon.

For those who like: Isekai, Action, Drama, Politics, and War.

Not for those who don’t like: An Inconsistent Group of Characters or Any of the above.
