Hey all, I’m back with the second entry of a series for me to cover for this week’s Translation Necessary Thursday. It’s “Iseleve Volume 02” by Miku.

Plot: In the first volume of the series, the main character Yuuya had been bullied in the past but finds a strange door in his grandfather’s house that leads him to another world where he gains skills and becomes ridiculously overpowered. He is able to travel at will between this new world and Earth. The plot of this second volume picks right up after the previous one, with Yuuya having been proposed to by a strange girl who turns out to be a princess he once rescued in the forest around his otherworld’s house. Because of course she is. This entry is not quite as predictable as the first, but it’s not unpredictable either.

Honestly, that might just be a me problem normally since that is one of my few rather unique skills, the ability to be able to read the flow of any story and predict likely outcomes to an insanely high degree. But “Iseleve” as a whole doesn’t really do subtle foreshadowing. Which is fine, not everything needs to be a very subtle hint as to what’s to come ahead in 8 volumes.

Characters: We get to meet a few new characters, but my favorite of them is probably Luna who is an assassin and has a rather rare razor floss type of weapon. The rest of the characters are just as great, though there is another standout that I won’t spoil who it is.

Overall: A solid second entry in a fun but not outstanding series.
