Hey all, I’m back with another series, though one I read ages ago, for this week’s Bookish Wednesday. It’s “The Last Oracle” by Ben Hale.

Plot: The plot is okay. It reads a lot like a much darker version of the initial Harry Potter books, and more along the lines of the last three Harry Potter books in terms of feelings. I also didn’t know prior to finishing the series that this was actually a sequel series to an earlier series of books that lent a bunch of context to what happens in this series. Though there have been additional series since then. Take that information how you will.

Characters: Tess is our main character and she’s alright, but my favorite was Hawk because he seemed like a complete badass in this first book. Granted I read this series nearly 10 years ago, so I probably would think differently if I were to reread the series. The rest of the characters are pretty good with standouts like Iris, Tess’ roommate.

Overall: A decent Fantasy/Urban Fantasy series, though if you are unfamiliar with the Lumineia series it won’t make as much sense as it’s the last in the series’ vast chronology as of writing this.

For those who like: Fantasy, Urban Fantasy, Young Adult Fiction, Interesting Plot, and Good Characters.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
