Hey all, I’m back for this week’s Bookish Wednesday with the fourth entry in a series that I last covered nearly 6 years back. It’s “Marked in Flesh,” Book 04 of The Others series by Anne Bishop!

Plot: “Marked in Flesh” takes place shortly after the last entry, where the Elders decreed to Simon Wolfgard that he needs to decide how much human the Terra Indigene would keep. This entry is the culmination and apex of the story thus far, and it marks a big shift in how things progress. I enjoyed “Marked in Flesh” quite a bit, despite it being not the lightest type of story. The Others series has managed to pull me in even though I generally don’t enjoy the darker shade of fiction nowadays.

Characters: We get a bunch of new characters, and I enjoyed almost all of them. Of the newcomers, I think Twyla is easily my favorite. I won’t spoil why, but she’s a riot.

Overall: An excellent entry in an already great series.

For those who like: Urban Fantasy, Politics, Drama, Action, Romance, Fantastic Plot, and an Amazing Cast of Characters.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
