Hey all, I’m back with another Anime Sunday with a series from the past fall season. It’s my “The Do Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor” Episode 01 Impressions.

Plot: The plot is pretty great. The heroine was the daughter of a noble family. She was engaged to the prince and was falsely accused and eventually killed by that same prince. But she wakes up back in the past and decides to change her past, by proposing to a visiting emperor.

Characters: Jill, the heroine, is a pretty interesting main character, and I enjoyed her quite a bit. Hadis is the male lead and the titular Dragon Emperor. He’s also interesting, but I won’t say why to avoid spoilers. The rest of the cast is good, though the roles do seem a tad exaggerated.

Art: The art is good. The J.C. Staff animators did the work for this, and they did a fine job. It just does not get close to my gold standard of ufotable.

Music: The music for this first episode is fitting but not memorable.

Overall: A good first episode in a series that promises to be fairly interesting, though I haven’t gotten to watch more of it just yet.

For those who enjoy: Time Travel, Romance, Fantasy, Action, and Strong Lead Characters.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
