Hey all I’m back with the first book in a series that takes place near my neck of the States for this week’s Bookish Wednesday! It’s Greywalker by Kat Richardson!

Plot Synopsis: Harper Blaine was your average small-time P.I. until a two-bit perp’s savage assault left her dead for two minutes. When she comes to in the hospital, she sees things that can only be described as weird-shapes emerging from a foggy grey mist, snarling teeth, creatures roaring. But Harper’s not crazy…

Plot: The plot of this first book is fairly introductory and while there are obvious foreshadowing clues that clever readers will pick up on almost immediately, it’s not bad for the first entry in a series. It’s a fairly standard Urban Fantasy setting, although the magic “system” isn’t like anything I’ve read in a long time, if ever. It’s pretty interesting.

Characters: Harper is a fairly interesting main character, although I really don’t like her stubborn streak all that much. Hopefully that’s improved in later books, and because of the plot I’m going to give her, and by extension the series, a chance to make up for it. The rest of the cast is also really interesting, although Quinton, a geeky guy who can work electrical wonders is probably my favorite character of the bunch.

Overall: If you love Urban Fantasy and Mystery, you’ll love Greywalker!

For those who like: Urban Fantasy, Action, Adventure, Mystery, Drama, Badass Female Leads, Excellent Plot, Fantastic Cast of Characters.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
