This week for Translation Necessary Thursday I’m covering a new series! It’s Chaotic Sword God Chapters 1-40 by Xin Xing Xiao Yao!

Plot Synopsis: Jian Chen, the publicly recognized #1 expert in the underworld. His quick sword techniques reached perfection and no one could defeat it. After one battle with the exceptional expert, Dugu Qiubai, who disappeared for a hundred years, his body was fatally injured and he passed away. After death, Jian Chen’s soul was reincarnated into a foreign world…

Plot: Jian Chen is probably one of the more bloody main characters in a Chinese Web Novel I’ve read, up there with Chu Feng for taking absolutely no crap from anyone. I enjoy the plot quite a bit, although these first forty chapters are more of a foundation setting than any really good action sequences. That isn’t to say it’s pure exposition, it isn’t at all, but the action is rather tame for these first few chapters.

Characters: Jian Chen is a great main character, although he really is rather violent I enjoy him quite a bit. That may be due to his ideology of peerless speed beats all, an idea that I wholeheartedly agree with. The rest of the cast is rather small, but Changyang Hu is a very likable side character as is Tie Ta.

Overall: For any Xuanhuan fans this is a must read.

For those who like: Xuanhuan, Fantasy, Action, Adventure, Martial Arts, Excellent Plot, Fantastic Lead.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
