This week for Sensate Saturday I’m covering a romance I just came across the other week. It’s Ookami Shounen wa Kyou mo Uso o Kasaneru, or The Boy Who Cried Wolf Tells a Lie Today Also in English, by namo!

Plot Synopsis: Keitarou Itsuki is a high school student unhappy about the menacing look of his eyes. Keitarou tries to confess to the girl he likes, Aoi Tokujira, but she rejects him flat out. Thinking that his eyes were the reason why she rejected him, he confides in his older sister about it at her salon. But her solution is more than he ever bargained for.

Plot: The plot is both humorous and serious, and I enjoy that mixture quite a bit. Plus the fact that it covers the issue with Itsuki’s sister’s solution almost immediately is great. I won’t spoil the solution, it’s too much fun to find out for yourself, but needless to say it provided an excellent plot hook and I’m looking forward to the rest of the series.

Characters: Itsuki and Tokujira are the stars, but the rest of the cast is also quite good. That said I actually enjoy Tokujira the most, Itsuki is a decent male lead but not quite as interesting as Tokujira.

Art: The art is excellent, and I loved all the detail it shows in characters faces, which is a huge part of the story.

Overall: An excellent Romance for those Romance lovers out there.

For those who like: Romance, A bit of Comedy, Drama, Slice of Life, School Life, Aesop’s Fables, Excellent Plot, Fantastic Cast of Characters, Awesome Artwork.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
