Video game developer TimeGate Studios announced today that it has reached a settlement with Paramount Digital Entertainment and Paramount Pictures regarding a trademark infringement dispute over "Section 8." The lawsuit, filed by TimeGate in federal court on April 5, 2009, alleged that Paramount's use of "Section 8" as the name of its upcoming interactive web series amounted to trademark infringement based on TimeGate's prior rights in the name. Upon receipt of confirmation from Paramount that it would not use the name "Section 8" in conjunction with its interactive web series, TimeGate agreed to dismiss the lawsuit without prejudice.
