MAGFest Plans Huge Charity Auction

In the past two years, MAGFest, the Music And Gaming Festival, has raised over $15,000 to support Child’s Play (http://www.childsplaycharity.org), the Penny-Arcade run charity which provides games to children’s hospitals around the world. This year, MAGFest hopes to surpass all years previous by offering a variety of charitable activities to help raise money for Child’s Play.

Usually known for its non-stop gaming and concerts, the upcoming 11th annual MAGFest will also be hosting both live and silent charity auctions, as well as a brand new event: Table Flipping For Charity. MAGFest provides the table, cutlery, cups, beverages, and more, and you provide the rage. The more you donate, the more stuff you get to flip over. Never before have violent outbursts been so productive to society!

Silent auctions will be running throughout the entire weekend, and a live auction will be held on Sunday afternoon (January 6th). Dozens of rare and signed gaming items will be up for auction, including several one-of-a-kind items such as a signed printer’s proof sheet from Final Fantasy: Distant Worlds, as well as a mint condition vinyl soundtrack to Beverly Hills Cop 2, signed by Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu’s band Earthbound Papas (formerly The Black Mages).

Dozens of companies and people have contributed to the list of items to be auctioned, including Konami, Gearbox Studios, Firaxis Games, Activision, Volition, Jonathan Coulton, Paul & Storm, Reddit, Valve and many more.

MAGFest hopes to raise even more money this year than all years previous, so read about our charity activities at http://magfest.org/charityauction, and join the festivities this January 3-6 in National Harbor, Maryland!
