Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. announced Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters digital pre-orders are now available for Nintendo Switch. Heated rivalries are ready to clash with the game’s Super Action Soccer game play, with the sequel bringing back the popular series’ over-the-top anime action as players compete in the beautiful game. Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters is slated for release on August 28 for PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
In Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters, players will follow Tsubasa Ozora representing the Japan national team as they vie to advance to the highly contested World Youth Championship. The game features more than 110 playable characters and 22 national teams, including soccer powerhouses Brazil, Argentina, Netherlands, Brazil, Mexico and more Players will put strength and technical precision to the test in thrilling clashes of soccer strategy, with each victory essential as Japan fights to secure its place among the world stage.
Based on the long-running anime and manga series, the action on the field in Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters has been significantly enhanced. The Super Action Soccer gameplay chains together spectacular plays to create unforgettable matches and action-packed sequences, allowing players to dominate the field when they pass, dribble, tackle or block with their own special techniques.
Even blocking strikes on goal becomes more tactical with a new system that pits goalkeeper against shooter, letting both players experience and counter jaw dropping signature super shots and blocks from characters of the anime series. As a nod to fans, Tadayoshi Makino reprises his role from the previous Captain Tsubasa game as the sound composer, with 80 new BGM tracks for the upcoming title.
