Hey all, I’m back for the first Video Game Tuesday of the year with a look ahead. It’s my Most Anticipated 2023 Video Games.

Hogwarts Legacy: I’m a fan of most Potterverse content, and I enjoyed the books while growing up. Even though the author has made many questionable decisions and pronouncements since the last book was released, I still like the setting. So, when Hogwarts Legacy does release, I’m looking forward to exploring Hogwarts in it and using the Potterverse style magic. I’m really hoping it doesn’t disappoint or get delayed for another year.

Forspoken: Another title that was originally supposed to be released earlier but got delayed to this year due to COVID impacting the development is Forspoken. It’s a game that I’m really, really looking forward to. It has an amazing open world that you can zip around using magic and is one of the biggest AAA titles to feature the Isekai or transported to another world plot device that has infected Anime and Light Novels the past eight years or so. I really hope this game is not delayed yet again, but as of this writing it’s set to release on January 24th.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom:  I loved The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and really who didn’t, so this sequel to it is going to be something I really want to play. Honestly, I hope the hype lives up to the title, and given how Breath of the Wild did, it may just do that. Though I do worry that the Switch’s hardware won’t be able to handle the game.

Honorable Mentions:

Final Fantasy XVI: This is the first big game directed from the beginning by Yoshi-P, or Naoki Yoshida, who I think is easily one of the best game directors of all time. But the rather dark nature of this title might just be a bit too off putting for me. So, I am not giving this title a huge amount of anticipation given that it might just be a bit too much for me.
