Hey all, I’m back with an unusual Fic that fuses two very different settings pretty darn well for Synth Saturday. It’s Chapters 1-10 of “Black Sky” by Umei no Mai!

Plot: This Fic is a Katekyo Hitman Reborn and Harry Potter crossover fic, but it takes the settings of both and blends them together in such a way as it makes sense for various things to have occurred. In this fic, the Harry character is a girl named Dorea, and she is taken in by the family of Sirius Black after the Halloween attack killed her parents because Sirius helped her father conceive a child with her mother after he was rendered infertile by a prank gone wrong. The crossover of the source stories really doesn’t get introduced until about chapter 50ish, but if you pay attention to it, you’ll notice with what’s going on that it is a bit subtler and also in how the settings have mixed. I really enjoy this Fic, as the later chapter sets have created entire cultures and sub-cultures with various nuances and made them believable. I love the various cultures for the most part, and they’re well worth reading this monster of a Fic.

Characters: Dorea is not exactly like Harry Potter, and yet the character still retains enough of the core behind Harry to do well. That said, she definitely isn’t the same character as Canon Harry, and this is evidenced by Dorea in the last chapter of this set. The rest of the characters are mainly the extended family of Sirius Black and Dorea’s various relatives.

Overall: A very fun fic, and one that anyone who enjoys either of the source stories should read.

For those who like: Harry Potter, Reborn (Manga), Action, Adventure, Drama, Politics, and Humor.

Not for those who don’t like:  Any of the above.
