Hey all, I’m back with another classic game from the ’90s for this week’s Retro Game Friday. It’s 1080 Snowboarding.

Gameplay: 1080 Snowboarding is all about snowboarding and includes both a couple of race modes and trick modes. The race modes are pretty straightforward, but the two trick modes (trick attack and contest) were the main draw. Using buttons and stick controls you can perform various tricks and earn points. Frankly, I enjoyed the race modes more than the other modes when I was a kid since I was a new gamer who couldn’t deal well with complex inputs yet. I probably could do it more easily these days.

Art: Sadly, the art has aged pretty poorly, but that’s not unexpected given this was released on the Nintendo 64 and almost none of the games for that console aged well.

Music: The music was pretty good, but nothing really memorable.

Overall: A solid game, but is very lacking by today’s standards in just about everything from limited track selections to poor artwork.

For those who like: Snowboarding, Race Modes, and Trick Modes.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
