Hey all, I’m back with a relatively unknown series for this week’s Anime Sunday. It’s “Phi Brain: Puzzle of God!”

Plot: The plot is rather basic: the main character gains a special MacGuffin and is forced to wear it after solving the puzzle attached to it.  If that sounds like Yu-Gi-Oh you’d be right, but this series doesn’t deal with a trading card game. It instead revolves around the main character and eventually his friends being forced to solve puzzles in their various Saturday morning cartoon-like fashions. Honestly, there’s a really good reason why this series is very unknown despite it being produced by Sunrise, the people behind the Gundam series.

Characters: Kaito is the protagonist in “Phi Brain: Puzzle of God,” and he’s an incredibly boring character that enjoys solving puzzles. The rest of the characters in this series are various stereotypes and are not very interesting.

Art: The art is okay, which makes sense given Sunrise made this, but it’s not particularly amazing either.

Music: I honestly don’t remember much of it, other than it being fitting.

Overall: “Phi Brain: Puzzle of God” is a very skippable series that isn’t really worth watching unless you really, really enjoy puzzles and want to watch an Anime about someone else solving them.

For those who like: Anime with Drama, Watching Characters Solve Puzzles, and Stereotypes.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
