Hey all, I’m back for this week’s Anime Sunday with a look at one of the potential standouts of the prior season. It’s my “Oshi no Ko” Episode 01 Impressions.

Plot: The plot of this first episode, which happens to be extended to nearly an hour and a half long, is a doozy. Honestly, I was pretty down with it until about the final 15 minutes. At that point, well something happens and what looked to be a really interesting series about getting an upbeat second chance at life for someone who died unfairly became something much different. I really can’t say much more without spoiling the episode, but what happens at that point killed any interest I had in watching the rest of the series. What I will say is I do not consume tragedies in any form of media for personal reasons.

Characters: Our main characters are Gorou, Sarina, and Ai and they’re amazing and incredible characters. The rest of the characters are just as good, but those three really stole the show.

Art: The art in this first episode is amazing. While it’s not ufotable quality, it is pretty freaking awesome nonetheless.

Music: The music of this first episode captured it amazingly well, and it fit the show perfectly.

Overall: A series that might just be one of the hottest in the past season, but due to personal reasons I don’t consume tragedies in any form of media and I can’t continue watching it. Don’t let me stop you from giving it a try though, just be warned that the first episode is quite long.

For those who like: Drama, Music, Lowkey Supernatural Elements, Amazing Plot, Great Characters, Awesome Artwork, and a Good Musical Score.
