Hey all, I’m back with a series that you’ve likely heard about for this week’s Anime Sunday. It’s my “Lycoris Recoil” Episode 01 Impressions!

Plot: The plot is pretty great. I’ve heard the series called “Jason Bourne with Cute Anime Girls,” and that’s a fair assessment of this first episode. I enjoyed it quite a bit. It was easily one of the standouts of the Summer 2022 season, as you might be able to tell since it received Hideo Kojima’s praise. Have I mentioned you’ve likely heard about “Lycoris Recoil” yet?

Characters: Takina and Chisato are our two main leads, and they are an interesting pair. Takina desperately wants to return to the DA, an agency where she was raised to perform various tasks and assignments, often deadly ones, at the behest of the agency. Chisato, on the other hand, is incredibly laid back and cheerful. The rest of the cast is just as colorful.

Art: The artwork of this first episode is amazing, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. It’s not ufotable quality, but it’s very good nonetheless.

Music: The music fits the nature of the show pretty well thus far. I have little doubt it’ll be great in later episodes as well.

Overall: An awesome Anime, and one that any spy or action fan will enjoy quite a bit.
