This week for Manga Monday I’ve got another Quick Review. It’s Daiya no Ace by Terajima Yuji!

Plot Synopsis: The series follows one Sawamura Eijun , a baseball pitcher with a passion for the sport. Sawamura plans to go with his friends to a local high school and play baseball to the best of their abilities. However one scout from the prestigious Seidou High approaches him and offers him a scholarship and a chance to make it to nationals…

Plot: The plot of this first chapter was pretty intense, and pretty awesome. I have to say that I’m pretty hooked, and will definitely be reading the entire series since it’s already started on it’s sequel.

Characters: Eijun is a pretty likable main character, and it’s not just because he isn’t arrogant due to his skill. He just really loves baseball and hates it when people disrespect their teammates or his teammates. The rest of the cast is pretty interesting, but I’m really looking forward to getting to know Mizuki. He seems like a pretty chill guy.

Art: The art is really good, it could probably do very well in Jump with it’s quality.

Overall: For Baseball nuts, or just plain sports fans, Daiya no Ace should prove to be an awesome read. It’s getting my go ahead thus far.

For those who like: Sports, Baseball, Action, Drama, Excellent Plot, Fantastic Lead Character, Great Artwork.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
