This week for Anime Sunday I’ve got another first impression look at a new series for the Summer 2016 season! It’s my ReLIFE Episode 01 Impressions!

Plot Synopsis: Kaizaki Arata is a 27-year-old, out-of-work man who has failed at each and every job interview he has had after quitting his last company where he only lasted three months. His life changes after he meets Yoake Ryou of the ReLife Research Institute, who offers him a drug that can change his appearance to that of a 17-years-old again. Taking the drug, he becomes a subject in a one-year experiment in which he begins his life as a high school student again.

Plot: The plot is pretty great, although there are some cringe worthy moments it’s very much intended. I enjoyed this first episode quite a bit and I’ll probably get to watching the rest of the series sometime soon, as it was released all at once by Crunchyroll.

Charcaters: Arata is pretty decent for a main character, and while there is obvious reasons he has for being unemployed it’s not been revealed yet. Ryo on the other hand is one mysterious character, and he can be a bit of an ass. The rest of the cast is good, and I particularly like Arata’s teacher Amatsu Kokoro, who doesn’t take his excuses at all.

Art: The art is great, but given that the source material was just as good I’m not too surprised.

Music: The music was great too, and the opening and ending themes are pretty good.

Overall: This is definitely worth a watch for those who like redemption stories.

For those who like: Redemption Stories, Slice of Life, Drama, School Life, Excellent Plot, Great Cast of Characters, Fantastic Art, Awesome Music.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
