Charlie Croker, fresh out of a stint in the big house, already has hatched a plan to swindle 4,000,000 pounds out from under the Italian mafia and the Turin police. This is The Italian Job, a driving game from Rockstar Games, the same people who brought you the Grand Theft Auto series.

The game is based on the movie The Italian Job, released 1969, starring Michael Caine and (of all people) Benny Hill. I wonder if anyone under the age of 30 knows who the hell Benny Hill was. But, I digress. The Italian Job the game, like the movie, follows Charlie as he plots the heist and rounds up his gang of thieves on the streets of London, staking out and executing the caper on the tight arteries and piazzas of Turin, and finally, the daring escape on the treacherous roads of the Alps.

In the story line mode of game play there are eight missions in London and a handful each in the city of Turin and the Alps. There are ten vehicles to unlock, such as police cruisers, luxury sedans, buses, and the classic Mini Cooper, which seems to be an integral part in the Italian Job story line. As you unlock the different automobiles and cities in the story line mode, you will be able to access them in the other modes of play.
