This week I’m covering another Web Novel for Light Novel Thursday. It’s Alice Tale, or as it used to be called in English When I Thought I’d Play a Girl Online, I Was Reborn Into Another World as One, by Seto Yuuichi!

Plot Synopsis: Arisugawa Akito suddenly finds himself in another world and another body, namely the one of the game character he just created. Female, game character. Alice, a female half-elf mage. Join him her as he she struggles with the world, his her body and the puppies after his her life as the dream of being the strongest feels suddenly far away…. as does being a man.

Plot: The plot doesn’t start off very serious, in fact it’s rather comical, but it does quickly ramp up in terms of tension and seriousness. I did enjoy the first arc of the series so far. I haven’t started on anything past that yet, but if the translator keeps up with a similar quality of work I’m expecting this to become a very popular series along the lines of Arifureta and the like.

Characters: Alice is the star of the show, but I really do enjoy the rest of the cast. Shion and Nicholl are really a riot to read, and it’s funny to read Alice trying to deal with the fact that he min-maxed the stats on his body, leaving him with absolutely no strength at all.

Overall: Worth a read, as I can see this becoming a very popular series.

For those who like: Reincarnation Stories, Transported to an Alternate World Stories, Magic, Fantasy, Gender Bender Stories.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
