Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures isn’t exactly anything new. You are a chosen individual who can turn the tide of the war. About the same as every Star Wars game to ever be released. So now you are ready to jump off into a huge adventure to save the Republic from the CIS, WRONG!

Get your lightsaber ready for…mini-games. That’s right mini-games. There are right around twenty different mini-games to choose from. Which range from speeder bike races to tower defense.

Ot of these you are probably only going to want to play the ones that support multiplayer. Such as the speeder bike races or the lightsaber duels. Which extremely narrows down the content of the game, but it’s ok in this case.

This can save you the trouble of having to play a bunch of generic mini-games and instead give you more time to play the good ones. Which honestly are a lot of fun and kept me entertained for a good few hours.

The main reason that you are going to want to play these mini-games is for the extras that you can buy, such as decking yourself out in multiple outfits of famous Star Wars characters or buying furniture for your house.

M personal favorite was having a miniature AT-AT following me around as I went through the world.

Here comes the problem though. Almost everything in the game is under lock and key, meaning that you’ll have to upgrade to a Jedi account if you really want to buy any of the worthwhile items.

There are multiple different ways to upgrade. You could buy a month’s membership, a year’s, or anywhere in between. Even then some items can only be bought with SC. What is SC? It’s your real money being thrown down the drain to buy virtual clothes.

If you are a really hardcore (and I mean top of the line read the expanded universe and love hardcore) Star Wars fan and love to play mini games, then heck, why not throw down a few bucks for a month’s membership and some cool stuff. Otherwise it’s not worth it to become a Jedi (never thought I’d say that) or buy anything.

I will have to give this game credit where credit is due though. The world (as limited as it is) does feel like it’s straight from the show. Characters such as Obi-Wan, Ahsoka Tano, and Anakin Skywalker (just to name a few) are all voiced by the same actors as in the show. Also it has the announcer from the beginning of the episodes to give you tutorials on the multiple games (cool announcing voice for the win).

The graphics of the game are just what you would expect, Generic Clone wars graphics. They aren’t bad but they aren’t good, they’re just generic is all.

Overall this game is just plain mediocre, but hey, it’s free or at least a tenth of it is. So sit down play it for a couple hours if you want, but I can tell you I won’t be playing it by the time you read this.

If you want to give it a try for free, then it won’t cost you anything. Simply go here: http://www.clonewarsadventures.com/ and get started.
