I’m back with the sixth entry in the Urban Fantasy series I’ve been listening to recently. It’s Ashes of Honor, Book 06 of the October Daye series, by Seanan McGuire!

Plot Synopsis: It’s been almost a year since October “Toby” Daye averted a war, gave up a county, and suffered personal losses that have left her wishing for a good day’s sleep. She’s tried to focus on her responsibilities – training Quentin, upholding her position as Sylvester’s knight, and paying the bills – but she can’t help feeling like her world is crumbling around her, and her increasingly reckless behavior is beginning to worry even her staunchest supporters.

AshesofHonorINSIDEPlot: The repercussions of the previous book are a huge part of this entry, and while I enjoy that, others may not. That being said, I personally find that it makes this one of the more interesting interesting entries. The plot seems to be getting increasingly more intense as the series goes on. This isn’t a bad thing, but if someone was to pick up this book without reading any previous ones, they’d be very confused.

Characters: We get to meet some new faces, of which Bridget is my favorite. The rest of the cast is great, especially Tybalt and May.

Overall: While it may seem like it’s just an extended epilogue at first, it quickly becomes something much more and is a great entry in the series.
