Q Entertainment Changes Name

Q Entertainment, the makers of Putt Nutz, has officially changed its name to Black Mountain Games. The company owned by Suzanne and David Brooks changed its name due to another company making games under the same name in another country. While Black Mountain Games still owns the rights to its original name in the United States the owners have decided to create a new brand with a stronger presence and style. The development direction of the studio remains the same, creating family friendly interactive entertainment software for the mass-market.

"The name change is as a result of an infringement on our lawful right to use Q Entertainment as our company name said Suzanne Brooks, President and CEO of Black Mountain Games. "We are still committed to delivering games which parents can rely on as being exciting, fun and safe for their children to play, while still challenging older players. We changed our name to better reflect our strength and solid grounding in the games industry."

Black Mountain's first title is Putt Nutz a fast-paced, over-the-top family sports game for the PlayStation 2. This original multi-player concept features a family of characters, collectables and unique playfields with interactive course elements. The title blends the sports and family action genres. It takes Miniature Golf and introduces console elements with beautiful hand painted backgrounds and a physics engine that can recreate real world rules in any setting. The game was created with replay in mind as players collect and use one of the two dozen collectable "golf" balls, uncover shortcuts and secret pathways, putt a Hole-in-One to open up a Bonus Hole or collect tokens to unlock each of the six side games.

Putt Nutz is not currently with a publisher but is actively looking for the right partner to bring this new game to market.
