Katie Morgan Is New Executive VP Of Emergent

Emergent Game Technologies has selected former SouthPeak executive vice president, Katie Morgan, as vice president of sales and marketing. Morgan will draw on her deep knowledge of the development process to guide Emergent in meeting the critical needs of developers and publishers.

"As a publisher, I was well aware that the rising cost of development is a major challenge for the industry," said Morgan. "I am inspired by Emergent's vision for the future of game development. Morgan brings more than two decades of industry experience to the job, 16 years of which were spent in publishing. She spent ten years with publisher SouthPeak Interactive where she played a major role in the company's growth. Morgan's work rejuvenated the company's offering by building a diverse line of game titles across all current hardware platforms facilitated rapid revenue growth. She was also instrumental in the success of the company's public offering in 2008.

Morgan also spent time in management and business development roles at Fortune 500 companies including Time Warner, Apple Computer and Procter and Gamble.
