Flying Lab Adds Casual Team

With 83 employee and three development teams, Flying Lab Software continues to expand its footprint in the gaming market with its announcement today of its new division – Flying Lab Casual. Flying Lab Casual is focused on developing more casual gaming MMO environments and universes from the ground up. Its first venture is a family friendly universe being built in partnership with Upper Deck, and will be announced in the next couple of weeks.

For fans of Flying Labs' successful MMO Pirates of the Burning Sea, the company is applying its trademark high-quality online graphics and intuitive game controls to its first casual online game environment. Like its parent company, the Flying Lab Casual division will always create original games that feature expansive universes to explore, brilliant graphics and fun gameplay.

Russell Williams, CEO of Flying Lab, explains the broader strategy. "Flying Lab Casual gives our company and its partners the ability to take our vast online experience and apply it to other arenas, in this case a more family friendly MMO environment," says Williams. "The Casual division has its own core team that has grown out of the talented development team and success of Pirates of the Burning Sea. This new division not only expands our company and its audience reach, but also gives our developers a chance to work on new genres and different types of games."

In addition to this new division, Flying Lab's Pirate of the Burning Sea is celebrating its one-year anniversary with a completely revamped sword-fighting system, and new skirmish and player-governed ports under development.
