Crisp Thinking Signs Nine New Clients

Crisp Thinking has signed deals with 9 more publishers for NetModerator for Kids and Teens, fueling the company's momentum.

Looking to provide a safe and secure online experience for children, ZuCamp, Masher Media, WishB, Nemo Enterprises, Webbliworld, Rocket21, SmartBomb Interactive, Talentnation and Flipoutz have joined the likes of Sony Online Entertainment, which announced the company would be incorporating NetModerator protection in the company's successful Free Realms world for children last fall.

Crisp Thinking's technology automates the process of identifying and blocking online threats, enabling studios to laser focus the efforts of live moderators on high level threats while providing the highest level of child protection available. The system provides real-time analysis that not only catches obvious phrases; it also evaluates the context and intent of conversations to identify real or potential predators and cyberbullies. In automating the process through technology, Crisp also allows companies to reduce moderation costs.

The system Crisp developed is far more powerful than legacy approaches because it was designed to go far beyond simple "key words" scanning techniques. Crisp has collected and analyzed millions of lines of chat logs from convicted predator cases to create dynamic behavioral profiles. These profiles are used by the system's pattern recognition software to scrutinize factors such as typing speed, syntax and word choice in any conversation to spot threats. The analysis engine is constantly updated to detect these new behaviors, use of languages and slang, as well as new abuse tactics.

"The huge growth in popularity of kid-oriented online game and virtual world space in the last few years caught most people by surprise and most are still struggling with providing adequate security," said Adam Hildreth, founder and CEO, Crisp. "The rapid expansion of our customer base is because, after looking at everything on the market, publishers are confident that that NetModerator for Kids and Teens is the best way to offer triple-A security while also keeping costs under control."

Crisp Thinking has been creating child protection technologies since 2005 for media organizations. The company currently has more than 30 customers for NetModerator Kids and Teens and has analyzed more than 300 million messages to protect children from online dangers.
