Hey all, I’m back with a look at the year ahead for this week’s Video Game Tuesday. It’s my most anticipated 2026 video games.

Grand Theft Auto VI: Topping my list with a game that shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone, I’ll say GTA 6 is highly, highly likely going to be the hottest games of the year. It’s been delayed long enough that the hype is getting absolutely ridiculous. Given Rockstar’s track record, they might even meet nearly all of it except the craziest expectations. I personally can’t wait, though I am super bummed it releases in May instead of a more sensible time of the year like say February so I can play it longer and avoid the heat.

Fate/EXTRA Record: Another game that’s been delayed quite a bit, but I’m really looking forward to this remake. For those who haven’t ever played the original version, well you aren’t necessarily missing out on a masterpiece because the combat system was dull and annoying as hell. I’m looking forward to the new combat system. But there are plenty of similarities to the Persona titles, so fans of that series might want to try Fate/EXTRA Record. Plus seeing one of my favorite characters in all of fiction in amazing HD is going to be glorious.

007 First Light: Like most people my age, I remember growing up and playing Goldeneye, so a semi open-world Bond game that is very open ended is an intriguing possibility. Being made by IO Interactive, the people behind the Hitman series, this is going to be a really interesting title.

Honorable Mention:

Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement: A prequel to the crowd funded Metroidvania game Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night by the legendary IGA (Koji Igarashi) is going to be interesting. Hopefully, it lives up to the hype. Personally, I’ve always loved IGA’s titles, and having recently finally gotten to play Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night after getting it on sale with my Switch, I’m looking forward to seeing what this entry is all about.
