Hey all, I’m back with another action-comedy film for this week’s Movie Monday. It’s Kindergarten Cop.

Plot: The plot of this film revolves around the story of one Detective John Kimble and his attempts to find a star witness against a crime lord he’s been after for years. And the key to doing so? He has to work undercover as a kindergarten teacher.

Casting: The star of this film is, of course, Arnold Schwarzenegger as the ultimate cop, but the rest of the cast is pretty good too including one of my favorite actresses, Linda Hunt.

Cinematography: The film doesn’t really have many special effects, and they aren’t particularly noteworthy. What I found most interesting was the fact that the school used was a real one in Astoria, Oregon. As compensation for letting them film there, the school got brand new equipment for their playground and new fencing, a beautiful lawn, and tall hedges.

That was a pretty great thing for the studio to do because let me tell you, the schools in Oregon where I live don’t get a lot of love in that particular area. The weather is also not friendly to playgrounds. My own elementary school’s playground was mostly just a large field with a few swings, slides, monkey bars, and tethered balls to play with, in case you were wondering. And we only got out on the few days when it was not raining.

Overall: One of the better Schwarzenegger comedy films.

For those who like: Action, comedy, drama, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and a fun plot.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
