Hey all, I’m back with another Anime Sunday with this week being a look at one of the previous season’s new shows. It’s my “The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess” Episode 01 Impressions.

Plot: The plot of this first episode is pretty much what I expected detailing the start of the story much like the original light novels. Honestly, it conveyed the sheer amount of “What the hell?” I felt on reading those first chapters pretty darn well in an animated format which isn’t always easy.

Characters: Komari’s maid Villhaze, or Vill, is easily my favorite character, and her utter devotion to Komari is adorable. The rest of the cast is great as well, with Komari being the main character, however I found that Vill was easily the best of the bunch.

Art: The art is wonderfully done by the studio Project No.9. While it’s not ufotable quality, it was pretty good nonetheless.

Music: The music fit this first episode very well.

Overall: A very solid first episode, and I look forward to being able to give the rest a watch once I finally get some free time.

For those who like: Drama, Action, Comedy, Great Characters, and Excellent Artwork.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
