Hey all, I’m back with another Anime Sunday with this week being a look ahead to the new season. It’s my Most Anticipated Spring 2026 Anime.

Mao: This is another adaptation of one of the famed Rumiko Takahashi’s works, and given my enjoyment of her past stories, namely Ranma and Inuyasha (we don’t speak about Yashahime) I’m going to be giving this a shot. Hopefully it’s more in the vein of Inuyasha and Ranma rather than Urusei Yatsura.

Rooster Fighter: I will admit that I latched onto the title of this in bewilderment and then purely out of curiosity when I saw that it was about a rooster saving the world. Given my love of the novel series Beware of Chicken, I just knew I had to include this. I hope the absurdity of the show matches my enthusiasm.

Honorable Mention:

Ascendance of a Bookworm Season 4: It’s another season in this hit series, and it’s getting an honorable mention because of how darn popular the series is. Personally having read the original light novels, this is where the series really takes an odd turn but for the better I think.
