Hey all, I’m back for another Anime Sunday with a series from a few years ago. It’s my “Captain Earth” Episode One impressions.

Plot: This is a fairly decent Mecha series, although it’s quite different than say Gundam. That said, it’s not revolutionary or anything and it’s a fairly bog-standard Mecha anime, particularly with this first episode. A boy is forced into a robot to fight enemies to save Earth, and things go from there.

Characters: Daichi is the main character. I enjoyed him for the most part as the male lead, though the fact he’s just a kid and therefore irrational is just par for the course with a series like this. The rest of the cast in this episode is pretty interesting as well, but Daichi really outshines the rest of the cast in this episode.

Art: The art was pretty great, but that’s not a surprise given that Studio Bones animated this series.

Music: The music was pretty forgettable sadly. It fit the series but after more than a decade, it’s not anything special.

Overall: A decent first episode in a fairly standard Mecha series.

For those who like: Action, Sci-Fi, Dramas, Mechas, Good Plots, Fun Casts, and Great Art.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
