Hey everyone, I’m here with a post to celebrate the fact that I’ve been writing about games and various stories in all sorts of mediums and forms from the traditional physical novel to fan fictions for a whole decade. It’s been 10 years of writing!

10 years?: Yep, while it’s not quite the 10-year anniversary of me writing here on GiN, I did start this journey 10 years ago way back on my personal blog that is sadly now defunct due to the fact that WordPress’s newish post creation system is a complete mess.

I started writing about various games and stories and did daily posts which eventually got me noticed by GiN later that first year in August, about six months after I first started. Then I started to do full-fledged game reviews whenever I got the chance. Then I got asked by Audible to do reviews of audiobooks and I did that almost weekly before switching to every other week when I got asked to do physical books by the publisher Tor which I used in those weeks I didn’t review audiobooks. I continued to publish daily blog posts along with the various reviews of games and books and that lasted until my old Mac finally broke down which was after three years of daily content plus all the reviews.

I took a few months break in order to get situated and returned to daily posts once I got settled with my new computer. I took further breaks along the way due to deaths in the family and moving, but I always came back a few months afterwards and finally realized that I had been burning myself out writing so often. I eventually settled on a post every four days and that’s been working for me ever since.

Are you going to change anything?: Nope, I plan on continuing as I have, doing various game reviews and having a blog post go out every four days. While I miss the free books, having a deluge of them with an expectation of getting reviews out quickly placed on me was not fun in retrospect, so not dealing with them has been for the best all things told. I am still up to doing book reviews, but frankly I’ve needed the free time I’ve got from not doing them to deal with other things in my life.

Thanks for reading my work for the past 10 years, and here’s to doing it for a long time to come.
