This week for Sensate Saturday I’ve got another Quick Review! It’s Kindred by Guang Zai!

Plot Synopsis: Hikari is a hunter, hunter for money. She takes tasks that are usually dangerous. During one of those tasks she lost her best friend and after that she has been pretty low key. She blames herself not being able to save her friend but swears to live for her friends sake so that her death was not in vain. As she returns to the city she hears that there is still one more job to do before she is promoted to next rank. Her job now is to beat a vampire and retrieve a ring, a very special ring

Plot: The plot is okay, not actually that great. Personally if I hadn’t wanted to do a Horror series for this week’s Sensate Saturday and I chose the first one that looked even somewhat interesting I probably would never have read this series.  It has potential, but the author will need to try very hard to make it work.

Characters: Hikari is a pretty stupid main character, who brings a treasure hunter on a bounty hunting mission? So I have almost no pity for her. The rest of the small cast we got introduced to in this chapter is okay, but we don’t really see them very much.

Art: Since this is a self published work I wasn’t expecting top notch artwork. What we get in this first chapter isn’t that bad at all when you consider that it’s done by an amateur.

Overall: It has potential, but for those expecting quality immediately you will be disappointed. I’m going to pass on reading the rest of the series probably.

For those who like: Horror, Tragedy, Drama, Action, Vampires, Good Art.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
