Vampire The Masquerade fans are no longer hurting for content, as quite a few interactive novels and text adventures have come out over past couple years to slake that hunger. Sins of the Sires is one of the newest, although it’s a bit rough around the edges.
This week our Modern Gamer takes a look at another so-called walking simulator game, The Dead Tree of Ranchiuna by developer Tonguc Bodur. This one is interesting, but is definitely not for everyone.

Like its predecessor, the Not Tonight 2 game is one that expresses its message through various mini-games and tasks, like checking people’s ID. This lets players explore that dark world while also contemplating their own.
While developer New IDEA Games has made an action-oriented FMV game before with the comedic Hijacker Jack. Deluded is their first attempt at a full fledged interactive adventure. And for a first effort, it’s pretty darn good.
Arcadia Fallen is a visual novel set in a beautiful world of swords-and-sorcery where demons are trying to take over, and it’s up to the young heroes to put a giant knock into their insidious plans.
The Vampire Regent is an interactive text adventure where you, as the leader of your city, must protect your fellow vampire’s interests, maintain your power and try to enjoy the privileged life of an undead monster.
Cold Verdict is a visual novel that pulls inspiration from movies like SAW. You wake up in an abandoned complex with four strangers and must pass a series of tests to try and figure out why you were all placed there, and how you will survive.
Strange Horticulture is a unique game where you run a small apothecary shop specializing in magical herbs, but also work to potentially solve mysteries and maybe even save the world with your near magical plant-based formulas.
