Dead Party Rocks Into Spooky Season With Zombie Neighborhood Defense Shooter

Developer Radiation Blue and publisher Snail Games USA have launched Dead Party, a four-player cooperative zombie defense adventure that combines barricade building, improvised traps and the power of rock music to battle hordes of the undead. The title arrived Oct. 29, just in time for Halloween.

A successor to the zombie defense game Dead Block, Dead Party expands on its predecessor’s unusual combination of survival strategy and rock-and-roll action with cooperative gameplay, additional defensive options and multiple ways to fight back against an undead invasion.

The adventure takes place in the normally peaceful town of Shady Hill, where Halloween celebrations take an unexpected turn when mysterious UFOs appear overhead. Before long, the neighborhood’s dead begin rising from their graves, leaving four unlikely heroes to defend their homes against an increasingly dangerous invasion.

Players can team up in online or local cooperative multiplayer to defend buildings and survive waves of attacking zombies. Rather than simply blasting enemies, teams must search their surroundings for resources, break apart furniture, construct barricades and strategically deploy traps to slow the advancing hordes.

When conventional defenses aren’t enough, players can turn to rock music. Each character has access to special guitar-based abilities that can help push back the undead, adding a musical twist to the cooperative combat.

Dead Party features four different gameplay modes. Stage Equipment challenges players to use music and stage equipment to defend their position, while Antenna focuses on powering generators to disrupt enemy forces with radio waves. Skull Cannon tasks players with collecting zombie skulls to shoot down invading UFOs, while Horde mode challenges teams to survive as long as possible against increasingly overwhelming attacks.

A story mode follows four playable characters, each with different abilities, strengths, weaknesses and equipment, as they attempt to save Shady Hill from the bizarre invasion.

Dead Party is available on Steam for Windows PC at a regular price of $19.99 on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
