This week for Manga Monday I’ve got another Quick Review! It’s Isekai Houtei Rebuttal Barrister by Kawamoto Homura!

Plot Synopsis: Yuuto Shiba is a 29-year old who, despite his desire to be a barrister, is a complete failure of a man. In a fit of drunkenness, he gets hit by a truck and dies. In the afterlife, he is brought into the world of Luanolde, and is tasked with implementing Japanese law into the country’s system of law.

Plot: The plot is pretty typical for “Transported to another world series” up until Yuuto meets god. Than things start to change in a pretty interesting matter. I was pretty quickly hooked after that, and while I won’t spoil the why, I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Characters: Yuuto is a pretty depressing guy, despite all that he’s also pretty interesting. He never gives up, despite failing the bar exam five times as one example. The rest of the cast is small thus far, but I’m hoping we get to see more people join the main cast.

Art: The art is pretty good, not quite Shueisha levels of quality, but darn close.

Overall: For those who like series dealing with the law Isekai Houtei seems to be a must read.

For those who like: Drama, Parallel World Stories, Fantasy, Law, Interesting Plot, Fascinating Main Character, Excellent Artwork.

Not for those who don’t like: Any of the above.
