World Cyber Games 2007 Tour Announced

The World Cyber Games (WCG), the recognized blue chip leader for international video game competitions, will be "hitting the road" in 2007 as Samsung, Circuit City, and Microsoft join forces to deliver the World Cyber Games 2007 Tour. Featuring two state-of-the-art branded motor coaches, the World Cyber Games Tour 2007 will travel to six WCG USA live events making 28 stops along the way at Circuit City stores in WCG tournament markets including: the WCG USA Regional Finals in Dallas, Los Angeles, New York City, and Indianapolis, the WCG USA. National Championships, and the WCG 2007 Grand Final in Seattle. The announcement was made by Michael Arzt, senior vice president and general manager of International Cyber Marketing USA, organizer of the World Cyber Games, prior to the WCG US Open, being held at the Samsung Experience in New York City on June 2nd and 3rd.

The motor coaches in the World Cyber Games 2007 Tour have been retrofitted to provide a one-of-a-kind gaming experience to fans at each of the WCG USA events. Each bus will contain state-of-the-art Samsung LCD HDTVs and monitors, Xbox 360 units, and PC gaming stations, as fans get the chance to try their hands at some of the official WCG 2007 tournament games, including: Gears of War (Xbox 360), Dead or Alive 4 (Xbox 360), PGR 3 (Xbox 360), Tony Hawk's Project 8 (Xbox 360), FIFA Soccer 07 (PC) and Need For Speed Carbon (PC). Adding to the fanfare will be the opportunity for local gamers to earn wild card slots into the WCG USA Live Regional Events. There are plenty of seats for everybody in the fully furnished gaming lounge where participants will be playing and competing in their favorite PC and Console games. The 2006 Grand Final in Monza, Italy broke new ground as more than 24 million people tuned in to watch the competition unfold in real-time, marking the first-ever global, live satellite broadcast for an e-Sports event. In 2007, the United States will be at the center of the e-Sports world when the WCG Grand Final takes place in Seattle, Washington October 4-7.

The World Cyber Games US Open takes place on June 2 – 3 at the Samsung Experience, located on the third floor of the Time Warner Center, located at New York's Columbus Circle (Intersection of Broadway and Central Park West at 59th Street). In addition to the pro-gaming competitions, there will be fun interactive gaming displays, raffles and prizes and other activities for all ages.
