Crisp Keeping Teens Safe Online

Crisp Thinking’s groundbreaking community management platform has, this week, been integrated into leading Tween virtual world Woozworld. The unique automated safety solution operates in Woozworld’s bi-lingual environment alongside human moderators to ensure the highest possible standards of online safety.

Woozworld is a virtual world and a social network for Tweens with more than 3,8 million avatars globally. Encouraging kids and teens to explore their own creativity in a fun environment, Woozworld users can create their own universe and network, safely playact teen and young adult roles, conduct business, take part in social games and activities and remain connected with online friends.

Nicolas Lee, CTO at Woozworld says: "The explosion in popularity of Woozworld meant that we needed to find a scaleable solution to continue to ensure the safest possible environment for our rapidly growing number of young users. But we needed a solution that also allowed the type of positive, healthy engagement and chat that users really enjoy."

Woozworld chose Crisp’s unique automated community management software which uses a combination of machine learning heuristics to detect long-term behaviours, concept analysis, filtering technology and reputation analysis. Crisp software operates in multi-languages and ensures the game remains COPPA compliant.

The Crisp Platform includes a sophisticated real-time filter designed to spot all the ways users can get around traditional filters such as replacing letters with numbers, using spaces and adding extra letters. The Platform’s White listing technology uses automated rule generation, converting a required filter into a sophisticated expression that traps a multitude of variations of the word automatically. This new approach allows for more expression than traditional White listing technology and does not penalize slang or bad spelling.

The Crisp Contextual/Concept analysis engines understand complex language concepts and can spot the meaning behind user-submitted content. The unique User Profiling engine ensures that from the first moment a user submits a comment or takes an action, the Platform creates a user profile, analyzing their actions and communications and rating users against certain threat vectors such as bullying and sexual content.

Mathieu Lampron, COO at Woozworld says: "Woozworld attracts a very diverse and multi-lingual group of users and Crisp’s unique technology allows us to offer a safe and engaging experience for our community within the game. We are delighted with the Platform’s functionality and it frees up our moderators to concentrate on positive community management and player retention."
